Skills for life

We all want what is best for our children to help them grow and develop in life. The Skills for Life Program has been developed for students from Years 9 – 12 to have the opportunity to learn and experience the basic skills that they need in a fun, safe environment before they venture out into the world.

Next Skills for life program will be run 3-5 June

The core skills included in this program:

  • Cooking on a budget
  • Washing / Ironing / Sewing
  • Basic Car Knowledge and Maintenance
  • Basic Financial management knowledge
  • Workplace Readiness
  • Interpersonal / Relationship skills
  • As well as many other fun activities

Woodhouse Activity Centre This course has limited places of 60 students for the weekend to allow for greater team work and interaction.

It is important to note that this is a technology free weekend, so students will be expected to leave their devices either at home or with one of the camp supervisors on arrival.

All camp supervisors, will have a Youth DCSI Clearance and have been trained in Person Centred Practice.


Important information for parents:

  • Transport to and from venue provided – pick up point Paradise Interchange
  • Students will need; Sleeping Bag, Pillow, 2 Towels, Toiletries, Appropriate changes of clothes for 2 days, Old pair of shoes
  • Reminder it is a technology free weekend
  • No money is required
  • Parents can pay by instalments if they wish
